

Michael Pasetsky, born February 25, 1942, passed away on January 9, 2026, at the age of 83 in Delray Beach, Florida. Born and raised in the Bronx, Michael was a longtime resident of Long Beach, NY and New York City.
Loving husband of the love of his life, Mimi, and devoted father to his sons, Mark, Rob, and Peter. He was also a cherished father-in-law to Anibal and Tracy. Michael was the proud grandfather of Hunter, Harlow, Presley, Piper, and Dylan, each of whom brought him immense joy and pride.
Born to the late Hannah and Abraham Pasetsky and survived by his dear brother, Ralph Pasetsky, and his sisters-in-laws, Rae and Margerie Tattenbaum-Fine, Myra Tattenbaum, and Pat Tattenbaum.
Michael dedicated his professional life to education, serving as a legendary teacher at East Meadow High School and Nassau Community College, where he inspired generations of students with his passion for biology. Beyond the classroom, he was a devoted coach to his sons’ baseball and soccer teams, a lifelong lover of tennis and football, and a gifted painter. He also had a deep love for theater, television, and movies, and even appeared as an extra in a film.
Michael will be remembered for his sense of humor, fighting spirit, and deep dedication to his family and students.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 13, at 11 a.m. at Riverside Memorial Chapel, located at 180 West 76th St. in Manhattan. Shiva will be observed on Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm, Wednesday from 1 to 8 pm, and Thursday from 1 to 8 pm.
To honor Michael’s memory, the family invites charitable contributions to the American Diabetes Foundation.
