

Nancy Ruth Hermann, nee Nierdieck, of Manhattan, lost her battle with cancer on June 3, 2012. She was 72, Ms Hermann was born in St Louis, Missouri on May 28, 1940, to the late Alice and Raymond William Nierdieck. She attended Lutheran schools in St Louis, and graduated from the University of Missouri in 1962 with a degree in English. She was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority.
Ms Hermann moved to Manhattan in the mid-1960's, where she embraced the city and all of its culture. She had a zest for life, and loved books, movies, performing arts, and the area's many art museums. She loved visiting Europe with her friends, especially Italy.
Ms. Hermann was employed by Bergdorf Goodman and was popular among her co-workers and client base, which extended throughout New York and the Washington DC area.
Ms Hermann is survived by her brothers, William Nierdieck (Carole) of Huntington Beach, CA, and John Northlake (Julie) of Orlando, FL. Two nephews and a niece in Orlando.
The family wishes to thank the medical community of St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital, and in particular, Mr. Lewis Cole for his friendship and deep devotion to Ms Hermann during her illness. Walter B Cooke Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
