Rafael (Tato) Lugo, born on October 21, 1935 in Ponce, Puerto Rico. He passed away on March 13, 2025, at the age of 89. Rafael resided in Bronx, New York. He was a long time military man who was very proud of his service and loved to put on his uniform on Veterans Day and brag that it still fits.
Tato was very handy and could fix almost anything. Up until a few days ago, he was changing the floor tiles in his home. He was married for 68 years to his beloved Maria Adelina Lugo. He is survived by his wife Maria, their only child, Jorge (Maria) Lugo, and his grandchildren, Amarilis Maria, Jorge Alberto and Emmanuel M. Rafael was predeceased by his parents, Luis and Matilde.
A visitation will be held at Riverside Memorial Chapel, located at 180 West 76th Street, New York, NY 10023, on March 18, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
A committal service is scheduled at Calverton National Cemetery, Wading River, NY 11792, on March 19, 2025, at 2:00 pm.
