Rita Greene (née Katz), 79, of New York, NY, died at home from Parkinson’s disease on December 19, 2023. Beloved wife of David for 57 years, proud mother of Barrie (Ron) and Elizabeth (Justin), and adoring grandmother of Jeffrey, Mollie and Max.
A lifelong New Yorker, Rita took in all the restaurants, shows, sports and shopping the city had to offer. She was equally at home in Lakeville, CT, enjoying tag sales, gardening and crossword puzzles on the deck. No holiday was complete without a dessert for everyone at the table: from rugelach and palmiers to layer cakes and fruit tarts. Her sharp wit, strong convictions and neighborly kindness brought much joy.
The family is grateful to the aides and nurses who provided care for Rita at the end of her life.
