Rob was born in NYC on February 1, 1943 to Andrew and Catherine (Redling) Feger. Raised in Yorkville, Rob, and his two sisters Karen and Linda, enjoyed their youth in the parks and streets of the upper east side of Manhattan.
In 1963 Rob served in the United States Army where his training in Intelligence sent him overseas to the war in Vietnam. Honorably discharged in 1969, Rob returned home to marry the love of his life, fellow Yorkville resident, Barbara Langer. They would later share their home with two sons, Stephen and Andrew. Barbara and Rob were married for 47 years.
Rob was a pet enthusiast who found enjoyment in taking care of an assortment of pets as both a hobby and a passion. Whether caring for fish, or perhaps breeding birds, he enjoyed sharing his knowledge on caring for animals with anyone interested in listening or looking for advice. He took joy in reading, watching movies, and had a love of anything related to astronomy and science. He found peace in tinkering in his own workshop and satisfaction with a completed house project. He loved spending time playing cards and games with family and friends and found happiness in laughter with family.
Friendly, caring, loyal, honest, strong willed, likeable, and generous are a handful of words to describe a family man who enjoyed his time as a husband, father, brother, son, uncle, cousin and friend.
