

Sanford (Sandy) Oliver Gluck, beloved father, grandfather, and brother, passed peacefully in the early morning hours on Friday, May 26, 2023. He was born in New York City on May 27, 1928 to Joseph and Lena (Meyer) and raised in Manhattan with his brother, Morton.
Sandy attended college and graduated from North Carolina State, serving shortly afterwards in the U. S. Army during the Korean conflict. Upon his return, he met the love of his life, Carole Tick, and they were happily married for 68 years. Together they traveled extensively, loved going to the theater, enjoyed dinners out with friends and summered on the beach in Remsenberg, New York, with family. Sandy was a devoted father to his three children, Mitchell (Holly), Leslie and Stacy, and loving grandfather to his four grandsons, Jordan, Justin, Alec (Emily) and Zachary.
Sandy was the epitome of of a true New Yorker. He worked in the garment industry for many decades and enjoyed walking the city, supporting the performing arts and shopping at Zabar’s every weekend. He was involved with Cohen Children’s Medical Center (formerly Schneider Children’s Hospital) and volunteered his time to many other philanthropic organizations.
His life will be celebrated with a graveside burial on Tuesday, May 30 at 2:45 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Glendale.
