AVIS DE DÉCÈS
Shirese I. Taylor
7 juillet 1966 – 6 janvier 2021
Shirese I. Taylor was born to Shirley Anita Taylor and the late Lloyd Terry Daniels, on July 7 1966 in New York, NY. Shirese who was affectionately known to her family and friends as “Rita” graduated from New York City College of Technology in 2005 with a degree in Legal Studies. Shirese worked as a Paralegal at the Law office of Kimberly L. Detherage before moving on to work as first a Legal Assistant I and then promoted to Legal Assistant II at New York State Division of Human Rights. She worked for NYS Human Rights for 13 years as a valued and loved employee. Her coworkers including judges, commissioners and deputy commissioners all have fond memories of Shirese as she did of them.
In 1988 Shirese and her first love the late William Grate III aka “Buzz” had a son Darnell Taylor who she loved more than anything in the world. The blessings continued for Shirese and in 1998 she and her 2nd love Darryl Williams had Shirese’s 2nd love of her life a son Divine Williams.
Shirese loved to sing even though we would playfully tell her girl please don’t. At any giving time she would burst out in song. She loved hard. She would do anything for family or friends. Her favorite phrase was “One thing for certain, two things for sure. Shirese amazing strength was something to admire. She went to dialysis 3 times a week at 5:00am and then would go and work a full day at the office. She was very fond of the friends she made at dialysis and appreciated the technicians so much.
The Master called Shirese home on Wednesday January 6, 2021. She leaves to cherish fond memories: her mother Shirley Anita Taylor, two sons; Darnell Taylor and Divine Williams; two sisters; Shirleen Taylor Green and Dawn Taylor Bond; a brother-in-law, David Green; an aunt and uncle, Loretta and Joesph Griffin; two nieces, Dashell and Shirnae Green; three nephews, Terell, Corey and Tavon Bond; great nephew, Zyaire Streety; great niece Nyla Gomez; first cousin and cousin-in-law Tishona and Leroy Coleman; three second cousins, Cordell J. For all the blessings that you brought to so many, you were a queen in life and now in heaven above, far too soon.
Carrying within you the joy of life, your light was welcomed by all you touched.
Your spirit will continue to brighten days and I pray that, from beyond, you will see your hopes and dreams come to fruition through the life that you gave your sons.
Rest with ease and exultation.
Humbled and Blessed,
with love, Aaron.

I was deeply saddened to hear that Shirese passed. I worked alongside her for 6 of my 12 years at the Division of Human Rights. I have a library of memories that will forever remain in my heart. May God wrap his loving arms around the entire family as you grieve the loss of your loved one. I will miss your smiling face, Shirese. RIP my friend!

As I think about my beloved Aunt Rita, I remember spending the night with my grandparents almost every weekend and Rita and I would have so much fun playing outside, running around the house, and sitting up all night and talking in the room when we were supposed to be asleep. Her laugh and smile was infectious. I am so grateful that throughout the years we kept in touch talking through Facebook and video chatting. The last time I spoke with her was in October for my Uncle's pastoral celebration. I thank God that we had an opportunity to see that evening and speak with her. Rest in peace and give my grandparents a hug. I love you.

Wow... My dear friend I can’t believe you’re gone! My condolences to the family. Shirese and I worked together in the same unit at the Division of Human Rights for 1 year and she would always make my day brighter with her funny comments. What a pleasure knowing you my friend. Even though we no longer worked in the same unit you would always come by to say good morning. I am truly going to miss you. RIP in Heaven! 😍😍😍

Shirese & I worked together at the Division of Human Rights. She was a friend and we shared many laughs and “for real” moments about the job. A hard worker, confidant and a caring person who loved her family and put them first. I will miss her smile. My thoughts of comfort & peace are with the family.

In the passing of our beloved "Lil Sis" Rita, we cannot but focus on her younger years as a child. Full of laughter, Fun and talkative.
Our last sight of her is edged in memory, the last weekend in October at the Pastoral Celebration. We will miss her her dearly.
We pray for the safe keeping of her soul by the Holy Father. Amen.
