Nécrologie de Albert F. Hutson
Albert F. Hutson, 88, of Newburgh passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, or as one of his grandsons, Benjamin, says he went to see Jesus. He was born April 30, 1932, a birthday shared with his first great-granddaughter, Surie, in Newburgh to the late Fred and Audrey (Haines) Hutson, who both passed a few years apart when Al and his brother and sisters were small children. A United States Marine Corps veteran he served in Korea during that conflict. He began at the very bottom of the ranks a Private and finished serving in the Reserve with the rank of Major. During his tenure with the Marines he completed Marine aviation training in Pensacola, FL. Al began piloting as a civilian flying in and out of a grass strip known as Skylane in Evansville. Albert introduced his soon to be bride to flying who also took flight lessons. Just as Al & Jo were side by side in life they were side by side at Newburgh Healthcare as they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary the day before his passing; they were side by side as he peacefully passed. Al was a member of Zion United Church of Christ where he served as treasurer, and most recently was a member of and active in Newburgh United Methodist Church. Albert, a lifelong resident of Newburgh, began farming as a child and continued to farm until as recently as the last six months, farming all around the Newburgh area – where many homes and businesses are now located. He also worked full time off the farm, beginning his career as a natural gas air conditioning repairman and then retiring as a pack-ship foreman from Alcoa after more than 25 years. Albert was also preceded in death by his sister, Velva, who passed away as a child; his brother, A.J.; and their paternal grandmother, Lillie Hutson, who raised Al and his siblings. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jo Ann (Spillman) Hutson; sons, Jed Hutson and Mark Hutson; grandchildren, Nolan, Benjamin, Whitney and Sam; sister, Ruth Werth; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Newburgh Health Care for their extraordinary loving care. A Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, officiated by Pastor Mark Dicken. Burial will be private at Rose Hill Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by Kapperman Post #44. A livestream of the service will be available at www.facebook.com/FuneralStreamUSA.
