Bruce Lenn Belwood, 64, of Evansville, IN passed away Sunday, February 24, 2019. He was born in Evansville on January 30, 1955 to James and Jacqueline Belwood. He retired as a detective with the Evansville Police Department after 30 years of service. Bruce was a member of the FOP and Daniel Boone Gun Club. He worked part time at Husk Signs after retirement. Bruce was an excellent craftsman who could do it all, from welding to electrical. He enjoyed hunting when he was young and had been a coach for his sons’ soccer, basketball, and baseball teams. Bruce was preceded in death by his father, James B. Belwood. He is survived by his wife, Ellen Rhae (Walden) Belwood; sons, Ryan Jeffrey Belwood (Amanda) of Brentwood, TN, Craig Bryant Belwood (Aimee Bonnet) of New York, NY; mother, Jacqueline (Lenn) Belwood; grandchildren, Carlisle and Amelia Belwood; sister, Sandra Nelson (James) of FL; twin brother, Brian G. Belwood of Evansville; brother, Daniel J. Belwood (Karen) of Wadesville, IN; and several nephews and nieces. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel officiated by Rev. Doug Heiman with burial in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit 2-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
