Eddie H. VanHoosier, 69, of Newburgh, IN, passed away on Friday, January 18, 2019, at Golden Living Center - Woodlands. He was born in Evansville, IN on October 25, 1949, to the late William E. and Mary Irena (Lane) VanHoosier.
Eddie was employed by the Newburgh Police Department for 25 dedicated years. He was proud to be a K9 officer. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, rebuilding old cars, and his computer.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents who raised him, William H. and Virgie M. Lane.
Eddie is survived by his wife of 41 years, Joyce (Deom) VanHoosier; son, Sean VanHoosier of Newburgh; daughter, Delicia (VanHoosier) Cranick of Evansville; and son, Gregory VanHoosier of Newburgh; grandchildren, Nicholas VanHoosier, Malinda VanHoosier, Christopher Cranick, Daniel Cranick, Isaac Cranick, Wyatt VanHoosier, and Dean VanHoosier.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Rd 261, with burial in St. John the Baptist Church Cemetery. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank Heart to Heart Hospice for their special care.
