Angel was born on Saturday, October 22, 1927, in Arteaga, Michoacán, Mexico to Eulalia González Maldonado and Alberto Maldonado. He met Carmen in his late twenties in Arteaga and, after a long courtship, they were married on April 23, 1955. They moved to San Luis, Sonora shortly thereafter. Together with their six children, they moved to the United States in the summer of 1967. Their seventh child was born in 1969 in Pacoima, California. Angel lived in the San Fernando Valley with his family for the rest of his life.
Angel was a product of his generation; although he may not have shown it with hugs and kisses he loved his family dearly and worked incredibly hard to provide for his family for the majority of his life. He retired at age 72. He was then the loving grandfather that helped care for his grandchildren, and showed them love with hugs and kisses. He loved to take long walks around El Cariso Park and admire nature. He also loved to help Carmen, his wife, in the garden, taking on the bigger tasks that she needed done. He was incredibly smart, and talented, make-shifting items out of spare parts to fix things around the home and in the garden.
Angel was predeceased by both his parents, and all but one of his older and younger siblings.
Angel was a kind, loving, and thoughtful grandfather. He was beloved by those who knew him. He leaves behind seven children who loved him dearly and miss him daily; Miguel Angel, Laura, Irma, Carmen, Adriana, Beto, and Jaime, and 12 grandchildren, Mikey, Jimmy, Andy, Chris, Amber, Matthew, Taylor, David, Metzti, Lalli, Elias, and Zach, and future generations of the Maldonado Juaréz family that unfortunately will not have the pleasure of knowing him, as well as other extended family members. We were lucky to have him in our lives as long as we did. We feel his absence, and will forever cherish the memories we have of him.
