Bob Slocum

Funeral services will be held 10:00am, Tuesday, June 4th, 2024, at Grace Baptist Church with Pastors of NorthPark Community Church officiating. Arrangements are by Eternal Valley Memorial Park.

Bob was born in Glendale, California, to Bob and Shirley Slocum on December 24, 1954. He graduated from Polytechnic High School in Sun Valley and went on to attend Glendale City College. He married Kay on September 10, 1977, in Panorama City. He worked in various roles for Pacific Telephone/AT&T for over 25 years, with sales being his primary position. After taking an early retirement from AT&T in 2000 he worked for various telecommunication companies in sales. He was a beloved member of NorthPark Community Church for over 25 years and a very active member and treasurer of the SCV Memorial Day Committee. He was also the unofficial head of the Gold Star Families in Santa Clarita after the passing of his son Ricky in Iraq.

Bob is preceded in death by his father, Robert, and his son Richard “Ricky” Patrick Slocum.

Bob is survived by Kay, his wife of 46 years; daughter, Kim; son Robbie (Joanna); mother, Shirley; sister, Lori (Keith); brother, Ron (Gloria); grandsons, Dylan and Jackson.

The family of Bob wishes to extend their sincere thanks to all the extended family, his NorthPark church family, and the many, many friends who have reached out to support them during this difficult time. Bob was deeply loved by all who knew him and will be profoundly missed. We take comfort in knowing that he is now in the arms of Jesus and reunited with his son, Ricky, and Bob’s dad, Robert.
