C. Darrell Haskell Jr.

He graduated from high school in Laguna Beach and his education included: a Masters in Business and Science from the University of Nevada, Chiropractic Degree from Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, teaching credentials and Special Education from Cal State Dominguez Hills. He also maintained a Real Estate Broker's License for seven years. His business background included Special Education Middle school teacher, Chiropractor, Realtor, Agent and Broker.

He was Chair of Torrance Eye Mobile and held sports physicals for high school students to participate in sports and obtain economic assistance. He last resided at Laguna Woods, Ca. where he assisted as a Host at Towers Open Houses and served on the Entertainment Committee. Friends described him as a dialysis hero, indomitable and organized, a caretaker, a nice man who looked like a movie star and a true gentleman.

He is survived by: his mother, Evelyn Haskell Shifferd; sisters Sharon Haskell Morrison and Janet Haskell Younce (Richard); stepbrother Charles Shifferd and stepsister Jean Shifferd Grebner. Bud was a doting uncle to his niece Sherri Lynn Dalton (Kirk) and nephews Frank Morrison (Mary) and Colin Morrison (Lanay). He is also survived by grandnieces Brooke, McKenna, and Chelsea Morrison and grandnephews Parker Dalton, Sean and Chase Morrison. Darrell also leaves his fiancé, Rosemarie Bartz.

Services will be held Friday, September 14, 2012 at Eternal Valley Memorial Park, 23287 North Sierra Highway, Newhall, Ca. 91321. There will be viewing at 10:00 a.m.; followed by a service in the Chapel of the Oaks, near the front entrance, at 11:00 a.m. with burial after the service.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Diabetes Association.
