

1932 – 2014
Cletus Lyle Harris, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away suddenly at age 82 on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 in Palmdale, CA. He was born on April 26, 1932 in Bicknell, IN. He graduated from Bicknell High School and married his high school sweetheart, Dorothy Barnes, then joined the military in 1951. Cletus received numerous certifications from various technical institutions throughout his lifetime.
A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Cletus served his country from 1951 to 1972. He retired as First Sergeant from Edwards Air Force USAF Aerospace Research Pilot School. Cletus then joined the U.S. Postal Service where he worked another 20 years and retired in 1992. In all, Cletus gave 40 years federal service. After retirement he traveled the United States with his wife Dorothy.
A resident of Palmdale, CA for 27 years, he also donated his time to the Elks Lodge becoming Exalted Ruler for 4 years and continued volunteering unselfishly until his passing. Cletus loved his wife of 63 years, his family, and his country.
Cletus is survived by his wife Dorothy Harris, son Ronald Harris, daughter Peggy James, son-in-law Chris fall and daughter Jayne Fall; grandchildren: Kailee and Shelby James; Alyssa, Drew, Blake, and Makenna Fall. He was preceded in death by his parents Ermal and Lyle Harris, his siblings: Claude Harris, Ernest Harris, Roland Harris, and Velma Klutey.
Cletus was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
Viewing will be held Monday, June 30, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Eternal Valley Memorial Park.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Eternal Valley Memorial Park, 23287 Sierra Hwy, Newhall, CA 91321
