

Edith “Lola” Lopez Alcedo, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away on November 9,2023 at her home in California. Born on March 19, 1936, in Bacolod, Negros Occidental, Philippines her departure leaves a void in the lives of all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Lola was the bedrock of our family, who kept us all connected. She is the beacon that guided us through life’s storms. She was the inspiration to the life of “Lolo” her husband and her children. She was a living testament to the strength of the human spirit and the indomitable will to survive and thrive. Her determination and resilience are an inspiration to us.
Aside from being a loving wife and mother to her six beautiful and handsome children – Jocel, Eric, John, Elaine, Joebart, and Jose,Jr., she was blessed with her nine grandchildren, Martin, Megan, Jordan, Thadd, Shane, Jeremy, Zae, Grace, and Addison, and two great-grandchildren John Ramon and Jeyla.
Lola had many other passions in life. She was a great homemaker and wife. She was kind and friendly, loving and generous. Cooking was a special skill she excelled at. Her preparations were enjoyed by families and friends.
On her bed before departure, her words to her husband were: “ I’ll give you my heart so you can live.”
A visitation and blessing for Edith will be held Wednesday, November 29, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Eternal Valley Memorial Park Mortuary, 23287 North Sierra Hwy, Newhall, CA 91321. The memorial service will occur Monday, December 18, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, with the graveside service to follow from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at 23287 North Sierra Hwy, Newhall, CA 91321.
