Founder and President/CEO of Talladium, Inc., Edward Joseph Harms, 67, died June 26, 2011, at his home in Valencia, CA.
Ed Harms was born August 7, 1943, in Sterling, Illinois, to Edwin and Marian (Geoffroy) Harms.
He is survived by his siblings, Thomas (Joan) Harms of Sterling, IL, Peter Harms of Valencia, CA, and Jean (Pat) Ryan of Dallas, TX; his children, Edward R. (Donica) Harms, Geoffrey (Laurie) Harms, and Danielle (Andrew) Kruszewski; his grandchildren, Darren and Kaitlin Harms, Ashley and Isabel Harms, and Jake and Bridget Kruszewski.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Marian Harms.
Edward Harms, CDT, was a graduate of Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Technology with advanced studies in Physics and Metallurgy. Ed’s determination and drive in the dental industry motivated him to move his family to Southern California. In the 1970’s, Harms was a partner in one of the largest dental ceramic laboratories on the West Coast. Over the years, Harms wrote numerous articles and lectured internationally on improved levels of laboratory products. He proceeded to assemble a group of investors and Aero Space Engineers to form and develop a successful dental laboratory manufacturing company, Talladium, Inc. His company continues the expansion of manufacturing products for the dental laboratories. His sons, Edward R. Harms and Geoffrey J. Harms will continue this legacy.
Services will be held July 2, 2011, at Eternal Valley Memorial Park, 23287 N. Sierra Hwy., Newhall, CA 91321. Visitation begins at 12 p.m. The memorial service and burial will follow at 1 p.m. A reception will be held at the Hyatt Regency Valencia, 24500 Town Center Dr., Valencia, CA 91355.
