

Viewing will be held at 10:30 am to 11 am, Thursday July 06, 2023 at Eternal Valley Memorial Park in the Chapel with the Rev Gary Dickey officiating at the graveside burial at Eternal Valley.
Ernest "Rusty" was born in Lepanto Arkansas to Orval Teats Glover and Florence (Judkins) Glover on August 26, 1925. He went to school in Lepanto. He married Virginia (Long) on May 27, 1946 in the County of Poinsett, Arkansas. They were married for 68 years. In 1956 he worked as a Policeman and Detective for the Los Angeles Police Department at the 77th Division and later for Harbor Division. He retired in 1981 after serving for 25 years. he was a veteran of WWII and served in the Army 508th Parachute Infantry and was also called to serve for the Korean War. He was involved in the Policeman Alumni and attended all reunions as well as the reunions for the 508th Parachute Infantry Association. He was very active in the Baptist Church as a Deacon and often sang at Church. When he and Virginia moved to Black Oak, Arkansas to help care for his Father-in-Law, he became a Volunteer Ambulance Driver in his town. He would also drive around and find people whose American Flag was worn and would replace it with a new one. He also loved gardening in his acre garden. He was an amazing poet and wrote of his family and the Police force; some were published in newspapers and the Police bulletin paper. Ernest was a very talented man and wrote many songs. He also wrote the official Anthem for the 508th Parachute Infantry and he was featured on the show Real People for the song. He sent some songs out to some musicians such as Johnny Cash, they were friends in school, and some others he knew. He would sing at family get-togethers and loved to sing Karaoke every weekend.
Ernest is preceded in death by his parents Orval and Florence, his loving wife Virginia, his son Thomas Glover, his daughters Mary Glover and Lynn Widner, 5 brothers Vernon, Bill, Bob, Jim and Allen.
Ernest is survived by his sister Marge Bradshaw, his Grandsons David Kelly Widner, Craig Glover, Kevin Glover, Great-granddaughter Kylie Glover and daughter-in-law Charlane Glover and several nieces and nephews.
