

Evelyn C. Rogers of San Fernando, CA. passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 18, 2013. She was born to Henry and Rose Cetus in Cross Village, MI on December 2, 1932.
Evelyn graduated from Harbor Springs High School in Harbor Springs, MI in 1951. She attended Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI receiving a bachelor’s degree in teaching.
Evelyn married Ernest W. “Pete” Rogers on August 11, 1968. They lived in Alaska and she taught there. They moved back to MI in 1971 where she taught in Mason, MI. In 1975, Pete and Evelyn moved to CA where she taught for a short time. She attended University of CA receiving a master’s degree in business. She has been working at Spears Manufacturing for thirty-six years.
Evelyn is survived by her sisters Arlene Milostan, Virginia Cole, Carolyn Bruning; her brother, Henry Cetus; all of MI; her step children, Julie Craig of NY, Brooks Rogers and Peter Rogers both from NH. She has many nieces, nephews and a great grandniece. Evelyn also has three grandsons and a granddaughter from her step children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete; sister, Rosemary; her brothers-in-laws, Tony Milostan and Jim Smith; and her parents, Henry and Rose Cetus.
Evelyn is known for being a wonderful wife and best friend to her husband, Pete. A loving step-mother, a dedicated sister, aunt and a friend to many. She was dedicated to her job and committed to the San Fernando Mission. She will be missed by her family, friends and co-workers.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 30, from 4-8pm with a rosary at 7pm at Eternal Valley in Newhall, CA. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 31, at 10am at Eternal Valley with a reception to follow, also at Eternal Valley.
