

Age 66, a resident of Valencia passed away September 14, 2012 at Holy Cross Hospital of a sudden heart attack. Janet was born on February 5, 1946 in San Angelo, Texas. She grew up in San Fernando, California and moved to the Santa Clarita Valley 25 years ago
.
She attended San Fernando High School and graduated from Chapman University where she gained her love of travel on her Around the World Semester at Sea. Janet earned her Master's Degree in Education from Pepperdine University.
As a young adult, Janet was active with her mother in the California federation of Business and Professional Women while living in the San Fernando area. After moving to the Santa Clarita Valley, Janet joined the Saugus Union School District where she was a teacher for 34 years; teaching at Cedarcreek, Highlands and Emblem Elementary Schools where she established many lifelong friendships. Janet enjoyed meeting with friends for lunch, Sharing a friendly game of Mahjong or Mexican Train with her friends. She was active in her Investment Club, Book Club and many other associations.
Janet will be missed by many of the lives she touched over the years. So many classes she taught, one cannot begin to list the number of lives she has influenced over the past 34years.
She is survived by her father, Maurice Orville Elm of Camarillo, CA; sisters jennifer Bean of Valencia, CA and Janice Gardner of Veneta, OR. She is also survived by her niece, Megan Bean, and nephew, Robert Bean, both from Santa Clarita, CA
