Louise Wood

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Louise Wood on August 5th, 2013. She was born Estelle Marie Durocher on January 30, 1932 to Josephat Durocher and Evangeline Boudreault in Ottawa, Canada. The youngest of 13 children, she was a gifted singer and entertainer, appearing in early Canadian television commercials.

She immigrated with her daughter to California in 1966; married her beloved husband Robert Wood in 1972, with the newlyweds taking-up residence in the Desert Sands Terrace neighborhood of Palmdale in the same year. A devoted wife and homemaker, Louise also continued her musical interests, performing with the choir of the United Methodist Church of Lancaster and at many Thousand Trails campsites around the Western United States.

She is survived by her husband Bob Wood (aged 97), her daughter Susan Daugherty, her grandson Richard Poyner and her great grandson Noah Poyner. Friends may pay respect at a Memorial Service for Louise held at:
