

Mabel was born on March 22, 1915 in San Francisco. Mabel is survived by her son and daughter in law, George and Jill Welch. Mabel’s grandchildren are Debbie and Gary Fisher, Eric and Krissy Welch, David and Grace Welch, Sarah and Paul Martin, and Michael Welch.
Her great grandchildren are Sarah and Corey Johnson, Paul Welch, Sammy and Sophie Welch, Greg Fisher, and James Zoren. She is also survived by nephews and nieces Stoney Hayes, Lorinda Kurkowski, Edward and Lillian Steele, Karen Huntley, Francis Montgomery, and Susan Stussy. She had many grand and great grand nieces and nephews. Mabel was adored and loved by all her family.
Mabel was raised on a homestead in Craig, Colorado. Her brother Bill used to train wild horses by putting on them a 5 year old Mabel along with her younger sister, Dorothy.
Mabel gave her family an incredible foundation with strong family values, unconditional acceptance, and an extraordinary love. Mabel loved to travel, socialize, and play bridge. Mabel will be forever remembered for the way she played board games with all the children. She had a competitive spirit and never let even the youngest child win! All had to earn their victories in every game of dice, pinochle or hand and foot.
Mabel was a supervisor at Pacific Bell Telephone company for over 25 years. She had a quiet, gentle way about her, yet she was strong, determined, and very competent in everything she did.
Mabel was ready to reunite with family members that went before her: spouse George, her mother Laura, father John, her brother’s Tom and Bill, and sister’s Preapa, Dorothy, and Lorraine.
Mabel lived a full life and enriched the lives of all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
