Muriel was a devout Catholic from a young age and remained strong in her faith throughout her life.
Muriel was a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many. She was born on January 2nd, 1935, in Jersey City, New Jersey to Peter and Mary Mancuso, their only child. She had a wonderful childhood growing up in New Jersey surrounded by her large Italian family, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins that she loved so much. She cherished those times and memories her entire life and spoke of them often.
When attending a dance at age 15, Muriel met Corradino "Cordy" Loguidice. After a 5 year courtship, they were married on April 16th, 1955 at Holy Rosary Church in New Jersey. On January 31st, 1956, Muriel and Cordy welcomed their first daughter, Donna. On August 18th, 1961, they welcomed a second daughter, Denise.
In April of 1963, Muriel and Cordy moved from New Jersey to southern California. On December 5th, 1970, they welcomed twins, Daryle and Jenifer. Muriel loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was devoted to her family, took tremendous pride in her home and was an amazing Italian cook. No one made better meatballs and eggplant parmesan. Her life revolved around family, religion, her Italian heritage, her dear friends and her cats, Kitty (boy kitty) and Francis, named after Saint Francis (girl Kitty).
In 1988, after the twins graduated high school, Muriel worked as a crossing guard at Rosedell Elementary in Saugus, California. She remained there for 28 years, as one of the longest running crossing guards, until her retirement at age 81 in 2016. She loved all her children at Rosdell Elementary ... and they loved her.
Muriel was blessed with four children, Donna Barker, Denise Storey, Jenifer Loguidice (Chris Kaschner) and Daryle Loguidice. Her six grandchildren, Jeanette Holland (Jerry Holland), Joseph Barker, Daniel Storey, Anthony Wade, Andria Wade and Aria Kaschner and three great grandchildren, Kevin Wade, Nicholus Wade and Jerry Holland III.
Muriel's bigger than life personality, love and kindness will be deeply missed by everyone, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
