June 2, 1942 - December 28, 2025
Patty was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who passed away from Parkinson's complications. Her life reflected resilience and reconciliation, a result of her relationship with Jesus Christ.
Patty grew up in Malibu California with her parents and two brothers, attending Santa Monica High School, and with a Audrey Hepburn sense of style, was voted best dressed in her class.
Her family attended the First Baptist Church of Las Flores Canyon where she met her future husband John, who had worked his way into her favor by first befriending her brothers.
Married for a few years before their first daughter arrived, they moved to Fullerton and Pat worked at the bank to support their growing family while John finished school. Soon they were
raising two young girls alongside Pats brothers and their young families, and a great group of new friends from their “Young Married” Sunday School Class at FBC of Van Nuys.
In 1977 Pat supported the decision to move from the San Fernando Valley to Santa Clarita and start a small business out of her living room. She wore many hats as a mom and business woman, earning the title of “Boss Lady” over the next 40 years as she and John, together, created a life that they loved. Bible Study with friends, Church Choir, Girl Scouts, High School Football games, and Toastmasters (ITC) were priorities for fun, growth and spiritual enrichment.
Patty was known for her extraordinary capacity for forgiveness, evidence of a true Christ follower, that was lived out with dedication to rebuilding broken relationships, rooted in grace.
Pat was widowed just two months prior to her passing, and is now reunited with her true love, married for 62 years. Her brothers Ivan and Bill Lewis have now lost their sister, after also loosing their dear friend John. Mom is also survived by her daughter Catherine Strader & husband Tom, and younger daughter Lora Cruz & husband Michael, as well as five grandchildren who have all enjoyed many RV camping trips and adventures with their Granny.
A Memorial Service is planned for January 31st 2026 to be hosted at Grace Baptist Church, Pats home church, where she considered it a privilege to learn from, grow with, and mentor others in her church family.
