Raphael "Tom" Parente

Raphael Thomas Parente "Tom" passed away peacefully at his home in Santa Clarita at the age of 89. He was born in New York City on December 18, 1923 to Raphael Sr. and Rose Camera Parente. Along with his brother, Anthony and sister, Clara. Tom grew up in Brooklyn N.Y. After graduating from Lafayette High School, he served in World War II in the Pacific theater. He returned home in December of 1945, met a young girl from Pennsylvania named Maybell Toth and married her on October 7, 1950. They had 2 daughters, Rosanne and Michele. Tom worked for the U.S. Post Office for over 30 years. At retirement, he and his Maybell moved to Valencia, CA to be near his daughters and grandchildren. He enjoyed poker, gin rummy, and bridge. He was an avid sports lover and lifelong N.Y. Yankees fan. He is survived by his wife, Maybell; his daughters Rosanne Parente and Michele Parente Donatich (Richard) of Grayslake, IL; his granddaughters: Kimberly Donatich and Denise Donatich Passolt (Kevin) of Chicago. IL.

A Memorial Service for family and friends will be held on Tuesday May 28, 2013 at 11am at the Chapel of the Hills, Eternal Valley Memorial Park Mortuary.

Tom will be remembered as a man of integrity, kindness, character, and love. He will be missed by all who knew him.
