Robert A. Nelson

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 17, 2025, at Eternal Valley Memorial Park, officiated by Rev. John LeRoy of Azusa First. Burial will follow at Eternal Valley Memorial Park. Arrangements are being handled by Eternal Valley Memorial Park.

Robert was born on March 13, 1948, in Culver City, CA, to Harry and Louise Nelson. He attended Arlington Heights, Mt. Vernon Jr., and Los Angeles High School before earning his degree from Cal State LA. He dedicated 41 years of services for the California Department of Motor Vehicles concluding as a Regional Manager Robert was highly respected in this position and formed many lifelong friendships.

In retirement, Robert found joy in swimming at the community pool, where he made many new friends. He had a deep passion for photography and travel, with his favorite adventures being cruises with his beloved family, where he could capture memories through his lens.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Louise Nelson.

He is survived by his brother, Gary Nelson; sister, Carol Barrilleaux; brother-in-law, Jerry Barrilleaux; and niece, Michelle Lyles Ajayi.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Rafaela Mehvary at Bravo Hospice and Palliative Care, as well as the compassionate staff at Alaminos Board and Care.
