Ruth Phyllis McKee

Phyllis Ruth McKee, 89, of Reseda, CA went home to be with the Lord on August 26, 2020 in Tarzana, CA.

Viewing (family only) will be at 9 am on September 14, 2020 at Eternal Valley, Memorial Park Mortuary in Newhall, CA.

Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Monday September 14 at Eternal Valley with Pastor Timothy Eichler of First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood, officiating. Burial will follow at Eternal Valley, Memorial Park (family only). Arrangements are by Eternal Valley Mortuary.

Phyllis Ruth McKee was born in Winnipeg, Canada to Philip Sidney Large and Emily Marguerite Large on May 14, 1931. Ruth went to school in Winnipeg and graduated from Gordon Bell High School. Ruth was an active member of the Puffins Ski Club in Winnipeg.

Ruth married Samuel John (Jack) McKee in September of 1953 in Winnipeg. They moved to Los Angeles, CA in 1956 with their two daughters, Deborah Ruth and Karen Margaret. In 1959, their son John Philip was born. Ruth and Jack raised their family in Reseda, CA. In later years, Ruth worked as an Account Representative for Wells Fargo Bank in Simi Valley. After ten plus years of employment, Ruth retired to her pool side condo in Palmdale, CA. In 2016, Ruth moved to Tarzana to be closer to her son John. Ruth loved spending time with her family and enjoyed attending church on Sundays at St. James Presbyterian.

Ruth is preceded in death by her husband Jack McKee and her daughter Debbie Kennedy.

Ruth is survived by her son, John McKee, daughter Karen McKee, her sisters Donna MacPherson and Leslie Dixon, Grandchildren: Jason Duffee, Matthew Duffee, Rebecca Duffee-Spencer, Kristina Leigh, Kevin Herrera and ten great grandchildren. What a fabulous life!
