AVIS DE DÉCÈS

Salvador P Alvarez

7 novembre 1929 – 9 mars 2020
Avis de décès de Salvador P Alvarez
AUX SOINS DE

Eternal Valley Memorial Park & Mortuary

Our dad, Sal Alvarez was born in Clarkdale Arizona on November 7,1929 at approximately the age of 2 his family moved to Mexico where he lived until the age of 16, when he came to Los Angeles. At the age of 16 he began working the fields up and down the California coast, sending money back home to help his parents. In 1953 he married the love of his life, Lucy, they would go on to welcome four children; Sal Jr, Ethel, Richard and Virginia. As a young newlywed he served in the US Army and spent 18 months in Germany.

Upon his release from the military, he began work for the city of Beverly Hills. He was offered promotions, but choose to venture out on his own, starting a gardening and landscaping business. His business grew in the cities of Beverly Hills, BelAir and Pacific Palisades, many customers kept him on his entire career! At the age of 80 he was forced to retire to care of our ailing mom. Being outdoors creating beautiful spaces with plants, flowers and trees is what he loved! After retiring he continued to have beautiful flower and vegetable gardens at home. He often said if he couldn’t be outside doing what he loved, he didn’t want to be on this earth any longer.

Dad worked hard all his life and family was always most important. Dad legally brought his parents and two younger brothers to the states so they could forge better lives. While they were still in Mexico, he sent money to help his parents. Often working 6 or 7 days a week he and mom saved up to buy a home in 1963. They eventually purchased another home in 1969 and then a small home for his parents. They sold these homes and purchased their dream home in Agua Dulce on two acres of land in 1991. Dad loved having space to plant trees, flowers, plants, and vegetables, and he loved his chickens! He was always quick to share what he reaped,

Jesus welcomed His good and faithful servant home to be reunited with our mom and brothers, his parents and all his brothers.

Dad, give mom a hug for us, we love and miss you terribly and know we will all be together again❤️
