I meet Steve at Pierce College around 1981 or so, and we soon started planning board games, often accompanied by my brother Ron, and Ronin (another Pierce alumni) and others. Many was the wonderful hours spent trying to crush each other on various battle fields. 

Some found memories:

Steve came by the house when I was sampling some cognac, but Steve was in the mood for apple juice. Have you ever noticed how apple juice and cognac look so much alike? Well, Steve reached for the wrong glass and hilarity ensued.  

I also have claim to annoying greatly Steve while playing Wooden Ships and Iron Men. I took command of a French fleet and Steve the English (of course!), but much to Steve's annoyance, I keep trying to open the distance from the English line, firing on his rigging. I couldn't understand why Steve didn't return fire until he told me that He and Gary (?) had an unwritten rule to load double shot (which had a very limited range), close, fire and board. The funny thing was when Steve got annoyed, he *really* played to win. I'm pretty sure I lost that round!

My wife, Lorraine, also has a claim to annoying Steve in a game; Gunslinger. For those of you not in the know, Gunslinger was a combo board and card game where the Draw and Cock card allow you to draw your single action revolver and cock it in one turn. Now on this day, after many a shootout, Steve and I agreed to a good old-fashioned barroom brawl; we littered the map with chairs, bottles and other items to augment our characters fists and Bear Hug cards. Lorraine wanted in; the more the merrier when it comes to brawl! So the cards where dealt and we started. On Lorraine's first turn she played Draw and Cock! Lorraine!??! We all agreed! Lorraine didn't back down; the brawl turned in to a rather quick, close range, shoot out.

Now I look at my original ASL rule book and sigh. Those were the days my friends, those where the days.

My kind, funny, smart, loving, nerdy brother. I will miss our weekend mornings enjoying a good cup of coffee and discussing old memories, current life situations, and future plans. Our wild, crazy, huge, and overwhelming family Christmas mornings will never be the same. I am glad that I got the chance to tell you "I Love You" every time I saw you, but my broken heart will miss you everyday.

Farewell my dear friend. May the Valkyries welcome you to Valhalla with food and drink now that your battle is done.

Steve is one of the kindest, most caring, thoughtful,and genuine person I've ever known. He was a Nerd's Nerd, and Geek's Geek,and he loved every minute of it. The world is slightly diminished with his passing and all of those who knew him are forever enriched.

We say farewell my love, in about 7 hrs, but you will always be with me & the boys...all I have to do is look in Nathan's face or Adam's smile and you're right there, Always! I love you forever, Terry

Dear Terry, I was just stunned to read about your Steven. I have been praying for you since our last Support Group at Henry Mayo. I am so very sorry. I wondered how you were all doing just the other day. My heart and prayers are with you and your family as well as wrap around hugs.

Hi Honey,Thank you forloving me, for making me laugh, keeping me safe, giving me our two beautiful boys, playing with our boys, and sharing you life with me for nearly three decades. Missing you every minute of everyday.

Steve was the awesome nerdy uncle that we all loved. I will always cherish the memories of watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer together, going to see The Who live, and the endless discussions that we had.

We will miss Steve very much, especially his big hugs and his laugh. Steve introduced us to Buffy the Vampire Slayer and many other geeky things that we enjoy still! I remember how much fun we had playing the board game Munchkins a few years ago and all trying to sabotage each other. Steve always made sure we knew how much he loved us and how proud he was of all of us. He welcomed my husband Nick into our big crazy family with open arms and loved our son Teddy very much. We will be sure to keep Steve's memory alive by sharing his nerdiness with others. We love you Steve, you were the best uncle and we will miss you so much.

Steve was part of my extended family and was like a brother to me. I always enjoyed our chats about anything and everything. One of the kindest and most unassuming individuals I have ever knownI will miss him very much.

We love you guys so much!  The Rasts love the Ravenscrofts for eternity!  :)!

Steve will be so very missed. He will leave a hole in my heart. He was the nicest man, loving, kind and generous. I loved how he immersed himself in the things he loved; music, games, family and his friends. His work was a source of pride although we rarely knew what he did at Lockheed, but his family was his greatest love and we love him still.
