Benjamin Anderson Cox

Born May 1, 1931, he was the son of the late Charles Cox and Georgie Cox Christian. He served his country in the Navy and loved attending Covenant Baptist Church where he was a member.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Deborah Cox Seagle; grand-daughter, Sharon Persson; and brother, Joseph E. Cox.

Ben is survived by his wife of 39 years, Shirley Brown Cox, of the home; son, Myron Center and wife, Cheryl, of Conover; daughters, Wendy Cox Keller and husband, John, of Conover, Tina Center Persson and husband, Bob, of Tigerville, SC, Judy Cox Lister and husband, Johnny, of Spruce Pine, NC; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

A Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, March 29, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Covenant Baptist Church in Conover with Rev. Edwin Elmore officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Garden in Hickory with military rites performed by American Legion Post #16.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
