Charles THomas "CT" Robertson

CT was born on February 27, 1926 in Pineville, NC to the late Theodore Robertson and Mary Robertson. He married Nellie Jean Huffman of Hickory, NC on July 8, 1944. The couple lived in North and South Carolina over the years, finally settling in Newton for their senior years. They were both long time members of Beth Eden Evangelical Lutheran Church.

CT was a kind, quiet man who loved animals, gardening, nature, old movies and tasty foods. Dedicated to his family, he worked in the post office for many years. He was very talented with his hands, always repairing tools, equipment, appliances and automobiles. Hobbies included cooking, crafting furniture and cultivating gardens.

In addition to his parents, CT was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Nellie Huffman Robertson; two brothers, William and Marion Robertson; great-grandson, Joshua Cole Arnder; and son-in-law, William H. Kahrs.

He is survived by his three children: a son, Charles T. Robertson, Jr (“Tony”), Gen. (USAF ret.) and wife, Brenda of Fort Myers, FL, his daughters, Cathy Kahrs of Goose Creek, SC, & Cheryl Cook & husband Rick of Morganton, NC; a sister, Martha Jean Reid of Charlotte, NC; 7 grandchildren, Tara Handy and husband, Tim, Amber Arnder and husband, Josh, Ben Kahrs and wife, Valerie, Jennifer Kahrs and Dave Cole, Sean Robertson and wife, Jennifer, Lt. Col. Jason Robertson (USAF) and wife, Brooke; and thirteen great-grandchildren, Brennan and Blaine Arnder, Trey, Taylor and Trystan Handy, Sebastian, Lilah, Jonna, Tate, and Beckham Robertson, Jack and Gavin Kahrs.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, March 11, 2016 in the Chapel of Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home in Newton, NC, with Rev. Marcus Ollis officiating. Entombment will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1:30pm to 2:15pm at Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home.
