Harold Lynn Preswood

Harold “Bud” Lynn Preswood, born on August 25, 1947, in Banner Elk, North Carolina to the late Virgil Preswood and Snow Rupard Preswood. He passed away on January 8, 2026, at the age of 78. A hard-working individual, Harold was a resident of Newton, North Carolina.

Harold dedicated many years of his life working as a lineman for Duke Energy in the Newton area. He retired from the City of Newton Public Works Department as a lineman. Harold Lynn Preswood will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his work, and his community. Harold was a devoted member of Boone Advent Christ Church.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Sandra Edwards Preswood for 30 years; sons, Matthew Preswood and wife Nora, Ricky Laws and wife Darlene, and Jody Laws and wife Nicole; sisters, Carol Knight and husband John, and Karen Fitch and husband Billy. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Chesney and husband Logan Geenen, Landon, Harper Preswood, Ricky Laws, Nicky Laws and wife Taylor, Haley Travis and husband Dylon, Madison Hefner and husband Kody, Eric Laws, and Kayle Laws; and great-grandchildren, Kyliegh, Malaci, and Nash Laws, Luke, and Eli Travis.

A private graveside will be held at a later date.
