Helen Herman Cochrane

Born July 19, 1933 in Catawba County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Osborne Herman and Lundie Heffner Herman.

She was a member of Trinity Baptist church and was employed at Needletown as a supervisor for a number of years. Helen was an avid reader who enjoyed gardening and sewing. She also loved spending time with her family, grandsons and great-granddaughter, Kaity.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cochrane was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Gene Norman Cochrane; and brother, Richard Herman.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Michael Lee Cochrane and wife Julie of Jacksonville, FL; daughter, Nancy C. Greer and husband Delane of Newton; brother, Dewey Herman and wife Helen of Claremont; Grandchildren, Greg Greer and wife Jennifer of Newton and Marcus Greer of Conover, Great-Granddaughter, Kaitlyn Greer of Newton, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Cochrane's services will be held Monday, June 6, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home with Pastor Brant Hoots officiating. Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery in Newton.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.

Delane Greer, Marcus Greer, Greg Greer, John Drum, Mike Cochrane, and Eddie Copeland will serve as pallbearers.
