Lucy Norwood

Born September 16, 1924 in Maui, she was the daughter of the late Antone Corniel and Delores Planise Corniel.

Lucy was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Startown. She retired from Southern Furniture after 25 years.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Alexander Byrd Withers, Jr., Troy Cansler, Sr., Lawrence Harold Norwood; one brother; two sisters; and stepson, Troy Cansler, Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Barry Withers of Sherrills Ford, NC; daughter, Marsha Scott and husband, Albert of Atlanta, GA; sister, Philomena Korotaj of San Jose, CA; grandchildren, Ryan Withers and wife, Kerry, Dayne Withers, Terrah McCarty and husband, Jon, Farrah VonWald and husband, Cuyler, Shea Windley; eight great grandchildren; stepsons, Scott Norwood and wife, Molly, Doug Norwood and wife, Donna; stepdaughter, Pattie Cooke; and many step grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 17, 2015 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Startown, with Rev. Ralph Kraft officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m., at the church.
