

Margaret Gladys Reinhardt Cline, 94, formerly of Bethany Church Rd, Claremont, died Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Abernethy Laurels in Newton. Born November 29, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Wallace Alexander Reinhardt and Daisy Blanche Cline Reinhardt of Conover.
Margaret, a lifetime active member of Bethany UCC, was a beautiful and gentle lady with a deep and abiding faith. Her quick wit and charitable spirit endeared her to family and friends. She was employed for many years with Newton-Conover and Burke County Schools cafeterias and enjoyed her family, her church, gardening, baking, traveling, and Swedish weaving.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her eight siblings; Earl Reinhardt, Fred Reinhardt, Rosealee R. Sigmon McClelland, Johnson Reinhardt, Helen R. Raby, Evelyn R. Leatherman, Edith R. Pope, and Franklin Reinhardt.
Survivors include her devoted husband of 73 years, Lyerly Peeler Cline, two daughters, Brenda C. Eckard (E. Dale) of Claremont, and Norma C. Boggs of Newton; two grandsons, Jeffrey D. Eckard (Karakahl) of Raleigh and Brian D. Eckard (Kathryn) of Columbia, SC; a granddaughter, Leah M. Boggs of Gastonia; a step-grandson, Kevin Boggs (Nancy) of Hickory; great grandchildren, Caelan Eckard, Greer Eckard, Afton Eckard, and Coley Eckard; three sisters-in-law, Marie C. Deal, Elizabeth H. Cline, and Aileen R. Cline; a brother-in-law, Milton H. Cline, Sr.; and many nieces and nephews.
A service of remembrance will be held at Bethany United Church of Christ, 2952 Bethany Church Rd, Claremont, on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. The service will be led by Pastor Colleen Samson, Chaplain Larry Bolick, and two former Bethany pastors, Reverends Nevin Feather and Banks Shepherd. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home on Friday, February 1, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Pallbearers will be: Michael A. Cline, Raymond Cline, Charlie Deal, Jerry Pope, Gerald Leatherman, and Ronnie Leatherman.
Memorials may be made to an organization or charity of choice.
The family wishes to express appreciation to the Abernethy Laurels staff who have tenderly cared for their loved one.
