

Born in Dover, Carol was raised in Byram and was a longtime resident of Sussex County, most recently residing in Stillwater. She was a membership manager at Financial Executives International in Morristown, retiring in 2006 with 28 years of service.
Carol loved the outdoors. She was a member of a ski club and also enjoyed swimming, hiking, and camping. She had dogs and horses, and was an avid animal lover for her entire life. Carol was a lifelong Presbyterian, active in the Stanhope, Stillwater and Newton congregations. She was a member of the governing boards at First Presbyterian Church in Newton and had a heart for mission and outreach to any who were in need.
The daughter of the late Joseph and Ellevenia (Dunleavy) Pantano, Carol is survived by her cousin, Eugene Pantano and wife, Karen; and her friends, Donald Bell and wife, Irene, of Newton, Douglas Pullan of North Chesterfield, Virginia, Robert and Leslie Conrad of North Chesterfield, Virginia, Laura Montrose of Midlothian, Virginia, and Scott and Mimi Pullan of Flemington. She also leaves behind many other friends who were as close as family as well as her beloved dog, Maddy.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
Donations can be made to Dr T Vet Care in Carol's memory for the care of "Maddy Matilda Sommer" at 51 Vail Road, Columbia, NJ 07832 or to The First Presbyterian Church of Newton, 54 High St. Newton NJ 07860 and designate in support of "Bread of Life".
Arrangements are under the direction of the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High Street, Newton.
