Frances Elaine Kinney

Elaine was born in Glen Ridge, NJ and raised in Branchville; she moved to North Creek 30 years ago to care for her daughter. She worked as Claims Adjuster for Selective Insurance Co. for 25 years.

In her younger years, horses were Elaine’s passion. She was formerly an active member of the Branchville Presbyterian Church. Elaine was an avid painter and enjoyed gifting her creations to her family. She was very involved with arts and crafts and even joined a craft club after moving to North Creek. Elaine was a talented pianist and loved playing for all to hear. She was a proud member of the Mayflower Society as a direct descendent of Francis Cooke and will be laid to rest in the Cook Family plot in Yellow Frame Cemetery.

Elaine was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Florence (Cook) Halstead; and her sisters, Wilda Zidek and Jean Johnson. She is survived by her children, Cheryl Marcheselli and husband, Kenneth, Thomas Kinney and wife, Harriet, and Linda Malone and husband, Gary; as well as 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be held for Elaine at 10 am on Thursday, October 6, 2022 in Yellow Frame Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, Newton. Online condolences may be offered at www.smithmccrackenfuneralhome.com.
