

Howard was born in Philadelphia, PA and raised in Ventnor City, NJ. He graduated from Atlantic City High School and continued his education earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Upsala College and a Master’s degree from Drew University. Howard devoted his life to education and proudly worked as a Science Teacher for more than 40 years. He worked for the school districts of Franklin, West Milford and Newton, most recently retiring from Newton High School. Howard was also the coach of the Newton High School Football team for many years. He was dedicated to his students, family and friends and was simply loved by all.
Howard was predeceased by his wife, June W. Bach; his parents, Howard Charles Bach, Sr. and Elizabeth (Hugin) Bach; and his brother-in-law, Robert Battles. He is survived by his children, Kimberle O’Neill (Frank), Howard Bach III (Maureen Slack) and Karl Bach (Laurie); 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Dorothy Steever (Albert) and Ruth Battles.
Services will be private under the direction of Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, Newton, NJ.
