Joy Fernbacher, of Hope, NJ passed away peacefully on a Wednesday morning.
Born in Brooklyn, NY to Margaret (Du Plessis) and James Moran, Joy worked as a switchboard operator for Bell Telephone and owned wig salons in Clifton and Caldwell, NJ. At her farm, Yellow Frame Arabians, she bred and showed Arabian horses and served as President of the Arabian Horse Breeders Society of NJ. She was a founding member of the Paulinskill Valley Trail Club and a Sierra Club member. Joy loved and rescued many animals throughout her lifetime. She enjoyed traveling and painting.
Joy is survived by her daughters, Joy Grenewicz of Branchville, NJ, Michelle Morville of Raeford, NC; her son, Glen Fernbacher of Fredon, NJ; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services are private under the direction of Smith-McCracken Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Joy Fernbacher to the cat or horse rescue of your choice.
