Judy was born in Jersey City, NJ on August 6, 1951, to the late Anthony and Marie (Katz) Pellegrino. Judy earned her master’s degree in art education, and she dedicated much of her life to teaching middle school students in Las Vegas, New Mexico. Her classroom was a space of creativity, compassion, and inspiration, where countless young minds discovered their own artistic voices.
After retiring, Judy returned to New Jersey to be closer to her loving family and lifelong friends. Her presence brought comfort, joy, and kindness to those around her. Whether sharing stories, spending quiet afternoons surrounded by nature, or simply enjoying the company of a feline companion, she found happiness in the small, beautiful moments of life.
She will be profoundly missed and fondly remembered by all who were lucky enough to know her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family, her friends, her students, and in the countless lives she touched through her gentle spirit and generous heart.
A memorial service celebrating her life is being planned for late summer. Details will be shared once they are available.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made out to Randolph Regional Animal Shelter, 97 Ironia Rd, Mendham Township, NJ 07945. Condolences may be offered to the family below.
