Leslie was born in Dover to the late William and Mary (Crann) Kelly. Leslie graduated from Roxbury High School and went on to graduate from All Souls Nursing School in Morristown. Prior to her retirement, she was a dedicated and passionate registered nurse. Although specializing in pediatrics, she was proud of her time as an addiction counselor. She finished her 40 year nursing career at Newton Memorial Hospital. Leslie was talented in quilting, knitted award winning children’s sweaters, and had an extensive doll and teapot collections. She also enjoyed puzzles, family vacations to Northern Maine and the mountains of Wyoming, and was always a reliable, enthusiastic, #1 fan and supporter at all of her grandchildren’s activities.
The beloved wife of Robert R. Rintz, she is survived by her children; Kelly Catalfamo and her husband Peter, John Michaels and his wife Jee-Na Choi, Gary Rintz, Donna Scholl and her husband Tim, Kathy Lasheras and her husband John and William Rintz and his wife Terri, her grandchildren; Brittany Scholl, Nicholas Catalfamo, Shelby Scholl and Olivia Catalfamo, her great-grandson Ashton Wasag, her sister Arlene Kelly Tyler and her husband Warren, her brother Bill Kelly and his wife Mary, many cherished nieces and nephews, and her beloved cat Mew Mew.
Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High Street, Newton, followed by a 7:30 p.m. memorial service, also at the funeral home.
