Lucia was born on November 17, 1936 to the late Joseph and Louise Apice who lovingly raised her in Cliffside Park, NJ. Lucia was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Edward J. Williams.
While raising her family beginning in Englewood, NJ, Lucia spent her spare time volunteering as classroom mother and Cub Scout den leader. After moving to Fredon, NJ, Lucia spent many years as a proud member of the Newton Medical Center Auxiliary and the Red Hat Society. Always finding ways to give back to her community, Lucia continued to be a member of the Red Hat Society after moving to Rome, Maine as well as becoming a member of the Mad Hatters, a group of friends whose purpose was finding fun ways to spread love and laughter through their volunteer service. In most recent years, Lucia volunteered monthly at the Belgrade - Rome Special Needs Food Pantry.
An avid bowler, Lucia was an active member of the Sparta Lanes Ladies Bowling League. Lucia was both a devoted homemaker and entrepreneur, co-owning The Pouring Loft, a ceramics studio as well as a silk flower business, Shades of Elegance, creating beautiful wedding bouquets and centerpieces. She worked at a local nursery while living in Fredon, nurturing her love of flowers and gardening. She even dabbled in modelling, posing for a boutique clothing store in Maine with friends.
A devoted wife, mother, grandma, and friend, Lucia will be warmly remembered for her incredible laughter, always radiant and contagious. She was truly one of a kind and is leaving a lifetime of memories of love, laughter and smiles.
