Patricia was born in Corinth, NY to the late Stephen and Ann (Jankovic) Doherty. Patricia was a beautician and took meticulous loving care of her family. She loved to host family celebrations and was renowned for her specialty dishes. She was a crockpot chef extraordinaire. Her cake decorating skills were legendary and she used them to make every family milestone memorable. She enjoyed her time traveling with her husband John, exploring historic sites throughout the mid-west and deep south taking special pleasure in indulging in casinos and making friends all along the way. She not only took pride in care for her family but she was a great friend and neighborhood ambassador of good will; always there to lend a helping hand. She was the matriarch of her family and she will be deeply missed.
The beloved wife of John F. Granda, Patricia is survived by her children, Jeffrey Hoit and his wife Cathy, John P. Granda and his wife Jacqui, Frederic Hoit, III and girlfriend Cheryl Thomas, and Leslie Granda-Hill and her husband Greg; her daughter-in-laws Melissa and Laura Hoit; her grandchildren, Tina (Steve) Schultz, Jeffrey (Inga) Hoit, Amanda Hoit, Jacqueline (Jose) Pereza, Cassandra (Alex) Brown, Nicholas (Lane) Hoit, Paige (Matt) Battista, Morgan (Will) Chase, Shannon Hill and Samantha Granda and many great-grandchildren. Along with her parents, Patricia was predeceased by her daughter Lisa A. Granda, her son Timothy M. Hoit and her stepfather Gabriel Teto.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, 294 S Sparta Ave, Sparta, NJ 07871. Interment to follow at Locust Hill Cemetery in Dover. Visitation take place from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High Street, Newton, NJ 07860.
