William "Bill" A. Akerstrom

Bill was born January 2, 1959, in Newton, N.J. to the late Ernest and Rosalind Akerstrom. He was raised in Andover Borough and graduated from Sussex County Vocational and Technical High School, class of 1977. Bill was employed by the State of New Jersey as an Assistant Crew Supervisor. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and golfing. Bill was consistently a dependable man who was always there to help anyone in need.

Bill is survived by three brothers, Keith Akerstrom, Tom Akerstrom (Kitty) and Brian Akerstrom (Debra); two nephews, Doug Akerstrom and Brian Akerstrom (Lara); a niece; Wendy Akerstrom; close friends, KC and Steve; as well as many aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 pm on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home 63 High St, Newton, NJ, with a Celebration of Bill's Life beginning at 7pm.
