After a long and courageous battle with brain cancer, Andrew steps into eternity free from pain and fully healed in the presence of his Saviour, on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at Hospice Niagara in St. Catharines, surrounded by his faithful family.
Andrew, at the age of 36 was the loving husband of Melissa for 14 years on May 14th. Devoted father of Iliana, Norah, Enoch and Oakley. Cherished son of Bill and Chris Schellenberg and much loved son in law of Ko and Helene Tamminga. Dear brother and brother in law of Jay and Eleanore, Joel, Leanne and Phil, Anita and Isaac, and Steve and Ashley. Forever remembered by his many nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and church community near and far.
Visitation will be held at Hetherington & Deans Funeral Chapel, 5176 Victoria Avenue, Niagara Falls on Monday, May 12, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Graveside Burial Service will take place at Niagara Lakeshore Cemetery, Niagara on the Lake on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. A Candlelight Service to Celebrate Andrew’s life will be held at The Gate Alliance Church, 6009 Valley Way, Niagara Falls on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. To honour Pastor Andrew’s commitment to youth ministry and Christian fellowship, children are most welcome to attend.
In honour of Andrew’s passion for sharing the Gospel and raising up young people to serve in missions, a fund is in process of being established to support youth going on mission trips.
