Anka "Anna" (Pehar) Carbone

Anna passed away suddenly from a heart attack following a serious injury. She died in her sleep at the Niagara Falls site Niagara Health System, on Sunday, March 22, 2026

She had just celebrated her 85th Birthday and really enjoyed her special night surrounded by her family.

She was born in a small town in Cirkvena, Yugoslavia to Ivan Pehar and Katy Dolacki.

She is predeceased by both of her parents who died when she was just a little girl.

She is also predeceased by the love of her life, Luciano Carbone (2024). They were married for 56 years, separated by death.

Also gone before her are her brothers-in-law Diodoro Carbone, Peter Guglielmi and Bepe Nacinovic and son-in-law Joseph Hutcheon.

Anna is survived by daughter Lolita Hutcheon (Jon Figliomeni), son Ric Carbone (Mirella), grandchildren Jordan, Joshua (Vanessa), and Ethan Hutcheon, as well as Emily (Joseph) and Reece Carbone.

She is also survived by her sister Maria Nacinovic, sisters-in-law and friends Joanne Guglielmi and Carmela Carbone, as well as her beautiful nieces and nephews.

Anna leaves behind her beloved Grand fur babies Kuma, Lily, Teddy and Layla.

Missing her are her special friends, who were able to spend time with her often.

Anna came to Canada as a young lady sponsored by The Ladies Auxiliary of St Patrick’s Church. She took English lessons, learned to sew and held down a full-time job.

She met dad at a dinner dance one evening, and the rest is history!

She enjoyed gardening, baking, sewing and dancing. A special pastime was feeding the squirrels, chipmunks and birds. Mom and dad together fed their little fur friends every day, and we kept the tradition going.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 1:00pm-4:00pm at Patterson Funeral Home. Service to follow in the Chapel. A private interment will take place at a later date.

Because of her compassionate and caring heart, donations can be made to the Niagara SPCA, if so desired.

Anna was such a wonderful woman and is so dearly missed.
