Barbara's life began in Hamilton, Ontario, with her parents Thomas and Irma Knight, and with cherished ties to the Shaver family of Brantford. In the 1960's, she married John Hinchliffe, and together they built a life in Niagara Falls, raising two children, Scott and Sherry Levis. Barbara's kind and gentle nature, instilled by her parents, was a gift she passed on to her children and all who knew her.
For 25 years, Barbara managed the morning shift at the Lundy's Lane McDonalds, where her outgoing personality and warm spirit made her a familiar face to countless members of the community. Later in life, she discovered her greatest joy and true calling as "Grammy" to her grandsons Jake and Maxx Levis; and Jack and Andy Hinchliffe. She poured her heart into creating lasting memories with them. Whether through craft time, campfires in the driveway, cheering on hockey teams or adventures in the motorhome, Grammy's boundless love and creativity made every moment with her grandsons unforgettable.
A service to celebrate Barbara's life will take place at a later date. If desired, memorial donations to Project Share would be appreciated by the family.
Barbara had a great life. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her kindness and love she shared so generously.
May she rest in peace.
