April 26, 1941-January 29, 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear and much loved mother and grandmother, Carolyne Justine Mottola (Petts) who crossed over peacefully on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at the age of 84.
She had the most kind and generous heart and would do anything for her family. Her brave and unbelievable strength and character is what her family will remember the most.
Carol was born and raised in Niagara Falls, Ontario by Clayton and Dorothy Petts where she dedicated her life to her family and her career as a registered nurse at the Niagara Falls General Hospital for decades. She touched the lives of many with her kindness and compassion over the years.
Carol is survived by her daughter Kelli Bosco (Larry), grandchildren Mike Mottola (Jill), Connor Bosco (Lisa), and Laurynn Bosco (Marko). She will be greatly missed by her sister Sharon Cole (Dave), and extended family Jean and Ken Hetherington, John and Carm Mottola, Peter and Judy Mottola, and all her many nieces and nephews. She will also be so greatly missed by her wonderful and longtime friend Sherri Branscombe (Chris Holmes).
She is predeceased by her son Dean Mottola, her husband Alf Mottola, and her parents Clayton and Dorothy Petts.
She will be remembered by her family and friends for her beauty and strength and fun-loving spirit and for her passion and love for sunbathing, Blue Light, the Toronto Blue Jays (biggest fan), Dill pickles, and her grandchildren. Many family vacations to Cuba and Mexico over the years were a highlight for Carol with so many fun and happy memories made.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Hospice Niagara.
Private family arrangements at this time and a future Celebration of Life will take place (date and times to be announced). As expressions of sympathy those who wish may make a memorial donation to Hospice Niagara. Memories, photos and condolences may be shared at www.pattersonfunralhome.com
