

Suddenly on Sunday December 30, 2012 we lost a loving Father, Papa, Brother, Uncle & Friend to many. Leaving to mourn are his daughters Denise Houde and her husband Yvon and Jennifer D’Alessandro & her husband Tony. Ed is survived by his four grandchildren who each held a special place in his heart – Mitchell (Pet) Tiffin, Lyndsey (Sweetie) Tiffin, Matthew (Peanut) D’Alessandro & Kyle (Buddy) D’Alessandro. Ed is survived by his loving sister and best friend Marlene Cummings and her children Dan (Leanne) Cummings and Lesley (Bill) Matson and their children Spencer & Tyler Matson. Ed is now re-united with the love of his life Ellen Kozlak (July 2004) whom he greatly missed. Survived by his mother-in-law Wala Kozlak and brother in law Richard Kozlak.
Ed retired from GNGH as Lab manager in 1992.
He was an avid bowler at Cataract Bowl where his many accomplishments included 7
300 games & 2 800 Series. He was inducted into the Niagara 10 Pin Bowling Association (NTBA) Hall of Fame in 2004. He was the Past President of the NTBA and Past and Present President of numerous leagues at Cataract Bowl. Ed was inducted into the Niagara Falls Sports Wall of Fame as a member of the Niagara Falls Battery Midget Baseball Team, coached by his long-time friend Johnny Worrall. Ed also enjoyed golfing with his dear friends in the senior league.
Resting at the funeral chapel of HETHERINGTON & DEANS for Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Scapular on Friday Jan 4 at 10:30 a.m. Rite of Committal to follow at Fairview Cemetery. Family & friends may call at Hetherington & Deans on Thursday from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 p.m. The Vigil will be held at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Diabetes Association.
