Eileen Sorley (Walker)

SORLEY (WALKER), Eileen (nee White) - Passed away peacefully at Maple Villa Long Term Care, Burlington on Saturday May 13, 2023, the eve of her 99th birthday. She will be deeply missed by her children Jim Walker (Flora Ahchong), David Walker (Lori Hollis) and Wayne Walker (Diana Thaxter). She remarried late in life and will be missed by the families of Donald Sorley and Lee Richards, who welcomed her into their lives and shared many happy memories with her. Predeceased by husbands Richard Walker (1999), David Sorley (2008), her three brothers and three sisters. Eileen had a life-long love of figure skating. She performed in ice carnivals as a teenager and served as president of the Niagara Falls Skating club later in life. She especially loved to watch the young children learn to skate. One of her joys in long-term care was to visit the park by the lake and watch the children skating in the winter. The family would like to thank the staff of Maple Villa Long Term Care for many years of warm and caring support. The extra kindness during her time in palliative care was especially appreciated. Cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to join the family at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Thursday May 25, 2023 from 10 to 11 am. A Funeral Service in celebration of her life will be held at 11 am at the funeral home. A private family Rite of Committal will take place in Fairview Cemetery.
