Sis at the age of 95 was the beloved wife of the late Donald Ballantyne (1997). Proud and devoted mother of the late Constance Louise (Ballantyne) Follett (2005) and Robin Ballantyne. Dear sister of Eileen “Bub” (the late John Hodgson), Margaret (the late Arthur “Bud” Waters), Freda (the late Richard Chopping), Joyce (Ray Kiziak) and James Eastland (Debi). Forever remembered by her relatives and friends.
When “Sis” was younger, she loved to waterski and took up curling to keep active. She ended up being quite the pro curler, filling the house with many trophies and this even explains how Robin got his name. In 1963 she won so many round robin bonspiels, all while expecting Robin. “Sis” loved a good cup of tea and her crossword puzzles.
In keeping with Florence’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Graveside Service will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Stanley Avenue, Niagara Falls on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, to honour her late daughter Connie Lou, would be appreciated.
